An Internship Experience to Be Thankful For
Happy Holidays to all! I hope this finds you enjoying time with your family and friends! In light of the Holidays, I wanted to write about why I am so thankful for this awesome internship. So here it goes!
Sometimes I have to pinch myself and ask myself how on earth I deserved to get such a cool internship. For real though, how lucky am I to get to intern at Kansas City’s premier luxury sports car dealer? I walk in every day to navigate my way around beautiful cars, like the rare 2012 Mercedes-Benz CL65 For Sale, and the beautiful 2014 Porsche Cayman For Sale. Seriously, I cannot think of anything better. How cool is it to walk in to a view like this?
Here’s three reasons why I am thankful for this internship at Pure Pursuit Automotive. I have more, but I don’t want to bore you talking about how great this internship is.
I mentioned it above, and I will mention it again. The cars here are absolutely GORGEOUS. Not to mention that some of them are rare finds! My absolute favorite car we have in stock is the 2013 BMW M6 For Sale. This car is a true work of art to which I have become slightly attached. It is one beautiful blue car! Not to mention that it sounds AMAZING when it is started. And it is a convertible. What more could you ask for? (Not much more in my opinion!)
Also, the fact that I get to walk by the 2013 Jaguar XFRS For Sale as soon as I walk in the door, as well multiple Porsche Carreras For Sale to get to my desk, is just awesome. How lucky could I really get? I am so thankful to be working in an office area that combines the work they do with what they are passionate about. It makes the experience that much better.
How could I talk about this amazing internship without talking about the awesome people that I get to work with on a daily basis? The people here are amazing, every single one of them. In my first blog, I wrote about how everyone on the team here seemed so willing to help me learn. Through my experiences, I couldn’t find this to be any truer. Everyone in the office is so willing to help me learn, and they have all contributed to my development in some way or another. Glen has shown me what it means to be a high-quality, effective leader; that knowledge is so valuable to me, not only now, but as I move into the future. Grant has taught me so much about marketing up to this point, and I can’t wait to see what else he teaches me! Marketing is the line of work that I wish to pursue, and he (in conjunction with our marketing consultants) is teaching me so much that I will be able to take with me. Lisa has shown me what it takes to effectively manage our office and keep it running, and I value that knowledge, as it is first-hand experience that I would not have received had I interned anywhere else. Don’t forget the Sales Managers, Bret Ballard and Michael Curran. Although I usually do not work with them on a daily basis, I have learned a lot about cars in general, especially selling cars, from them. Everyone here is just a genuinely good person, and they make coming to work just that much more enjoyable, which is something for which I am very thankful.
The thing that I am most thankful for about this internship is just the overall experience, especially the marketing experience I am getting. Having a major like Business Administration that is very broad makes it harder to get an internship in a specific field like marketing. Throughout my experiences at William Jewell College, I have really developed a passion for marketing and have wanted to gain experience in that field, but it has been hard because I have such a broad major. When I was offered this internship by my teacher at Jewell, I was quick to jump on it because I knew I was finally going to get the experience in the marketing field that I had been dreaming of for so long. I visited the office in the Kansas City Crossroads Arts District, and I knew this was going to be the perfect internship. I can honestly say that taking this internship (although it added to my already crazy schedule!) was one of the best decisions that I have made. I have learned so much not only about social media marketing and just marketing in general, but also about how to run an office, how to effectively lead a team, and about cars in general. I have loved every second of this experience, and I cannot put into words how incredibly thankful I am for this opportunity to intern at Pure Pursuit!
A Peek into the Future
My experience at Pure Pursuit has helped me so much. It has given me a little glimpse of what my future could potentially look like, working in marketing. My experiences here have been so valuable, and I have learned so much that I can take with me into the future. I love my internship here, and I look forward to gaining so much more knowledge and experience in the months to come at Pure Pursuit!
Until next time, peace out!
